Premium Glazed Roof Hatches
Roof access hatch fitted with gas struts which gently open to between 70° - 83° for access. This opening angle range varies according to the size of hatch you order (See the technical drawing for more information).
Our sleek design features an aesthetically pleasing low rise polycarbonate dome fitted to a choice of PVC kerbs.
The dome cassette is attached to the kerb using innovative security fixings which spin once they reach a certain torque. This means they cannot be accidentally overtightened during installation, but also cannot be undone without a specialist tool (one supplied with each hatch). Each hatch is fitted with a secure handle which allows manual opening.
The entire range has been independently tested and accredited by the British Board of Agreement (BBA) or by EN 12101 assessments, and is CE marked in accordance with BS EN 1873 or EN 12101 testifying compliance with Building Regulations and industry good practice.
Kerb Options
DF Kerb - a 100mm PVC kerb designed to be fitted to an existing upstand
150mm or 300mm Multi-wall PVC construction with superior thermal performance - Fits straight to roof deck, the kerb foot radius is designed to allow the easy application of roof covering up to the termination point/ membrane clamp.
The 150mm and 300mm* kerbs slope at a steeper angle than some rival products. This results in a larger daylight area; reduced by only 150mm on each dimension resulting in a greater daylight area (25% on small sizes and 10% on big sizes). Additionally it means a bigger clear area for access.
Kerb height - 150mm and 300mm refers to the membrane termination height, the actual height to the top of the kerb is 216mm and 365mm respectively.
*300mm Kerb is for use where additional insulation is being added to the roof.
Dome
Dome cassettes are constructed from UV stable Polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is 200 times more impact resistant than glass. Please note this product listing is the single glazed dome version. Available in 3 colour options.
Thermal performance comparison
To comply with Part L Building Regulation requirements roof domes must achieve a U value of 2.2 W/m²K or lower. Our 150mm and 300mm PVC kerbs achieve the following U-Value range:
Double Glazed with 150mm or 300mm PVC Kerb 1.6 - 2.1 W/m²K (exceeds thermal requirements of Part L in all sizes)
Triple Glazed with 150mm or 300mm PVC kerb 1.2 - 1.5 W/m²K (exceeds thermal requirements of Part L in all sizes)
Quadruple Glazed with 150mm or 300mm PVC kerb
Glazing | U-Value DF Kerb | U-Value 150/300mm PVC Kerb | Acoustic Airborne Sound Index |
---|---|---|---|
Single | N/A | N/A | 12dB |
Double | 2.0 - 2.4W/m²K | 1.6 - 2.1 *W/m²K | 20dB |
Triple | 1.5 - 1.7 W/m²K | 1.2 - 1.5 *W/m²K | 22dB |
Quadruple | 1.3 - 1.4 W/m²K | 1.1 - 1.3 *W/m²K | >22dB |
*Meets or exceeds Part L Building Regulations requirements for Roof Domes (2.2 W/m²K)
Please note the DF kerb is less thermally efficient (Double Glazed 2.7 W/m2K Triple Glazed 1.8 W/m²K)
Triple and Quad skin models offer class leading thermal performance and resistance to condensation.
By providing full insulation across the whole width of the rooflight (including the fixing flange), this eliminates any cold spots associated with traditional methods of dome rooflight construction and giving a much higher f-factor.
