The External Gas Meter Box is a unique, fire retardant, and fully insulated solution specifically designed for External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems, eliminating the need to move the existing meter housing.

Thermal Performance & EWI Compliance:

• Certified Performance: Achieves a class-leading U-Value of 0.30 W/m²K and an fRsi value of 0.87, ensuring the product Meets PAS2035 standards for retrofit projects.
• Insulation Integrity: The outer frame and door are packed with mineral wool insulation during manufacture, eliminating voids and addressing concerns relating to the performance gap at the point of installation.
• Installation Benefit: Uniquely designed to fit over the existing gas meter housing, saving significant time, cost, and inconvenience by not having to move the meter during EWI application.

Dual Safety & Ventilation System:

• Fire Safety: Manufactured from fire retardant material to ensure safety integrity within the EWI system.
• Gas Ventilation: Features two gravity vents fitted to the door (top and bottom) that open automatically in the event of a gas leak.
• Compliance: The vent size and functionality meets the requirements of BS8499 and has been independently tested to react to positive pressures as low as 1Pa.

Construction, Finish & Ordering:

• Construction & Finish: Fabricated from durable Zintec steel, which is primed and then powder-coated. Supplied ready to fit as a fully insulated, ready-finished unit.
• Door Flexibility: The door is easily removable to aid fitting and can be hinged on either the right or left side. The door features an opening handle and is secured by a safety wire to prevent overextension.
• Locking System: Secured by twin tri-drive locks (top and bottom) to ensure even compression against the door seal.
• Standard Finish: Supplied powder-coated in White RAL 9016 (no onsite decoration required).
• Bespoke Options: Bespoke sizes and other Classic RAL colours are available (Unique Design Patent Application No. 2216692.0).

Warranty & Coastal Note:

• Guarantee: Standard 2-year guarantee against defects from the date of delivery.
• Coastal Restriction: No warranty is provided if fitted within 10km (as the crow flies) of the coast. For coastal areas, we strongly recommend using the Grade 316 Stainless Steel option (contact for details).
